In Jagatballavpur's Makhal Tala area, a 9-year-old girl was sexually assaulted after being lured with 50 rupees by an accused, Prabir Manna. The incident took place when Manna enticed the victim to a secluded spot, where the assault occurred. Upon hearing the girl’s screams, local residents rushed to the scene, caught Manna, and physically subdued him before handing him over to the police. The victim’s family immediately filed a complaint, leading to Manna’s arrest.
The local police have initiated an investigation and are collecting evidence. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the assault but confirmed that charges have been filed against Manna. Following the arrest, protests have begun in the area, with locals demanding stricter safety measures for children and quick justice.
